use tech, find rest, and glorify God.

Back in the early days of Facebook, when people would upload an album of 78 pictures entitled, "Lunch With Friends," Andrew Noble sent a Facebook DM to Joel to see if he wanted to join a Bible study.

Joel Jacob was studying Mechatronics Engineering at the time at the University of Waterloo. He went on to work on the Lexus RX 2016 350 at Toyota, the SmartSensor at Ecobee, and has now launched a brand-new product at Splunk. Joel loves tech. He’s an early adopter and tech enthusiast.

TWO FRIENDS, AN ASPIRING THEOLOGIAN AND A TECH FUTURIST, DISCUSS THE RELEVANCE OF THE BIBLE IN OUR TECHNOLOGY-FILLED WORLD.

Prior to entering pastoral ministry, Andrew helped grow a technology company called Plum from seven to thirty-five people. He now finds himself reading Neil Postman and Jacques Ellul and wondering why churches so readily live-stream their services (think “the medium is the message”). Though Andrew has an MDiv from Heritage Theological Seminary, he'd be the first to admit he has plenty to learn.

Given our digital age, Andrew and Joel each feel the need to think more deeply about how Jesus might use and build technology. How would Jesus use tech? We hope you'll learn along with us.
