The game's own explanation, as a reader sees it in the backpack.

Cited for this book

A priest of S. Acisclus named Perfectus, asked his opinion of Muhammad by men who swore not to betray him, gave it — and was betrayed. Eighteenth of April, 850, on the day Córdoba celebrated the end of Ramadan, he was beheaded in front of the crowd. Eulogius began writing down every martyrdom that followed, and every argument made against them by other Christians, so that neither could be forgotten.
