Worth knowing
- A Christian at Rome, by his own account a former slave. He tells us more about his household troubles than about his theology.
- The Shepherd is a series of visions, commands and parables, including the great image of a tower being built on the waters — the tower is the church, and every stone is a person.
- It was enormously popular. Some early churches read it as Scripture, and it sits at the end of Codex Sinaiticus, one of the great fourth-century Bibles.
